Welcome!
Thank you for your interest in wanting to serve as a mentor with Son of a Saint! All information collected within this application will be kept strictly confidential and viewed by only the mentor application review team, which can consist of the following:
- C-suite leadership (Founder + CEO, and CFO + COO)
- Director of Community Engagement
- Human Resources Manager
- Volunteer Manager
- Mentor and Alumni Engagement Specialist
Mentor candidates come to Son of a Saint with a wide range of personal characteristics and experiences. We believe that participant eligibility shall be determined without regard to race, color, religion, national origin, marital status, sexual orientation, veteran status, or disability.
Although only males can serve the role of a mentor to our young men, we welcome others to donate their time to support Son of a Saint as a
volunteer, which is not as time consuming as being a mentor.
The application will cover many sensitive subjects as our mentees arrive at Son of a Saint with past experiences, including those that are traumatic (i.e. losing a father at a young age through death or incarceration). Approved mentors will be trained prior to being paired with a mentee and during the mentor and mentee relationship. Throughout the complete process, Son of a Saint is here to support mentees and their mentors as challenges arise.
(All offers of mentorship at Son of a Saint are contingent upon completion of a successful background check through the approved vendor, Sterling Volunteers. We ask that mentor candidates cover the costs of the background check so that Son of a Saint funds can go directly to support activities directly benefiting the boys and young men.)
