Dear Foster Alumni,
The Foster School has established a strategic priority of incorporating an inclusion, equity, and diversity focus into every decision we make. In the last few months, we have taken some important steps towards this priority,
described here, but there is still much work to be done.
We recognize that the most meaningful and impactful change will come if our decisions are driven by listening to our community. We also recognize that Foster School leadership is currently limited in our perspectives and our experiences. We are committed to building structures and pathways for all voices in our community to be heard and acknowledged as we act to drive change. This spirit is reflected in a quote from Foster EMBA alumna Laura Cañate who recently wrote:
"If you’re considering ways to take action in your company or organization it’s imperative you include voices of those you’re trying to support in the process. You will not build anything sustainable, scalable, or significant without inclusion.”
As a Foster alum, your voice is essential to our success. We invite you to share your input – on your Foster experience, on the priorities we set to move forward and how you might want to get more engaged with our community. Thank you for your input and engagement.
Kind regards,
Frank Hodge, Dean
