Caring for Patients with Chronic Pain: Listening Session Form

Background

The National Academy of Medicine's Action Collaborative on Countering the U.S. Opioid Epidemic is hosting a listening session to better understand the experiences and perspectives of clinicians caring for patients with chronic, non-cancer pain.

About the Form

The discussion questions covered in the listening session are open to the public for response through the completion of this form. The opportunity to submit a form is open from February 25th to March 24th. Your participation is completely voluntary. Please note, for this particular form, we are seeking the perspectives of clinicians who provide treatment and manage the care of patients with chronic, non-cancer pain.

Your input is valuable and the content gathered from this listening session will inform the creation of a person-centered pain management journey map—a visual tool highlighting key approaches to effective communication that lead to strong clinical relationships and shared decision making to optimize quality of life for people living with pain.

We recognize that every individual's journey with chronic pain is unique and complex, requiring personalized approaches to pain management from clinicians. By providing the opportunity for public input, our goal is to capture a diversity of perspectives and experiences from clinicians. We value your privacy and will protect any and all information shared. Please note that your responses may remain anonymous and still be included in our thematic summary and analysis of understanding chronic pain and its management. If you complete this form, the NAM staff will contact you to let you know how the information you provided will be utilized.
