Thank you for your interest in serving as a Greater Mankato Growth Cavalier! The entire board and staff at Greater Mankato Growth appreciate the time and energy you will bring to our organization and community. This volunteer position provides many opportunities to make connections with other business representatives and we often have more applicants than open spots in the program. Please complete the information below. Openings are filled on an as-needed basis throughout the year and will be reviewed by our leadership committee.
Mission Statement:
The mission of the Greater Mankato Growth Cavaliers is to be the welcoming committee of Greater Mankato Growth, Inc. to encourage new members to become and stay active in their membership.
Purpose:
Cavaliers assist GMG staff with welcoming new members and engaging existing members to Greater Mankato Growth through new member visits, phone calls, and event participation.
Cavalier Committments: on average, 3-4 hours per month, within business hours Monday through Friday
- I agree to attend at least 75% of all monthly Cavalier meetings (held the 1st Tuesday of the month at various member restaurants) to share information gathered at new member visits, volunteer for upcoming event assistance, and learn about upcoming events. Attendance is expected of all Cavaliers (9 out of 12 months each year).
- Attend two (2) business visits per month to welcome new members
- Attend and assist with 50% of GMG networking events (Examples: Business After Hours, Greater Mankato on the Green)
- Make one phone call per month to invite new members to events or perform business retention calls.
