This summer Greenpeace is releasing our first ever plastics supermarket ranking! We've asked 20 large grocery retailers to provide details about their current and future plastic usage. The information in the survey you are about to complete is crucial to assessing supermarkets' plastic footprint. Thanks so much for helping us with this important work!
Pro Tips
- Photos are the name of the game. Taking a good photo is critical for us to decipher all the details from your visit. We'll give you more details as to what pictures to take throughout the survey.
- Take a series of photos to ensure you capture everything you see, so if someone wasn't in the store with you, they could look at your photos and see clearly what you saw. Please email it to; plasticfree.us@greenpeace.org with your name and address.
- You will only be able to upload one photo per question, therefore, to upload the next photo press the blue arrow on the bottom right which will take you to the next question to upload. Due to the upload size limit, it is helpful if the photo focuses on one item. If you cannot upload the photo please email it to; plasticfree.us@greenpeace.org with your name and address.
- Please visit the produce, deli/cafe, bulk goods and check out areas of your local supermarket to fill out the survey.
- Review your photo - take 10 seconds in the store and flip through a couple of photos to confirm they look great
- Fill in your basic info before you start the survey, otherwise, it won't submit.
- We need more information on the following grocery stores. If you have these retailers near your area, we'd like to encourage you to visit them; *if they are not in your area, see question 3 for a list of grocery stores.
