Important information for authorised program officers
Restrictive Intervention Self-Assessment Tool - Authorised Program Officer (RISET- APO) is an educational tool that's designed to support authorised program officers to understand the responsibilities of their role.
The key responsibilities of Authorised Program Officers (APO) are defined by the
Disability Act 2006 (the Act). The
Act states the role of the authorised program officer in relation to:
- the use of restrictive interventions, and
- compulsory treatment.
The tool outlines the knowledge-set an authorised program officer would be expected to have, and continue building, in order to meet their obligations fully.
