As the head of a campus center of community engagement, you are invited to take part in a national research project examining how institutions of higher education are constructing organizational structures for the purpose of facilitating connections to communities (local, regional, national, and global). Your responses will help create a national baseline database that can be used by centers like yours for program assessment, comparison to other institutions, and strategic planning.
Responses from the inventory will be aggregated, and no campus or individual will be identified. Completion of the survey takes approximately 20 to 30 minutes.
You will be able to move through the inventory more quickly if you prepare/have ready the data that is requested in Part VIII (“Institutional Information”). Specifically, in the latter section of Part VIII, the inventory asks for (a) the number of courses taught on campus and the number of community-engaged courses taught, (b) the number of faculty on campus and the number of faculty teaching community-engaged courses, and (c) the number of departments on campus and the number of departments with community-engaged courses.
Your participation in this inventory has the potential to contribute to the understanding of the institutionalization of community engagement in higher education. The results of the inventory can be used by institutions like yours to help their strategic planning for institutionalizing community engagement while adding to a growing body of national data.
