Request for feedback: National Standards for High School Psychology Curricula (APA, 2011)

Introduction

The National Standards for High School Psychology Curricula (APA, 2011) provides learning benchmarks for the high school psychology course and is available online at http://www.apa.org/education/k12/national-standards.aspx.  The current National Standards expire in August 2021.  A National Standards Working Group has begun to revise the current psychology standards and invites high school psychology teachers to provide feedback to inform the revision process.  Feedback is welcome by July 1.

11. A working group last summer recommended aligning the next revision of the National Standards to the Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS Lead States, 2013).  Do you support this alignment?

This working group also recommended aligning the next revision of the National Standards to existing undergraduate assessment guidelines and models for the undergraduate psychology introductory psychology course, to encourage better alignment between high school and undergraduate psychology courses.
