1. What are the aims of the study?

Recent large scale studies demonstrated that public attitudes of police are a complex multi-dimensional concept. The importance of carrying out research into public perceptions of policing is to gain further understanding into ways local communities and police interactions could be improved. This study aims to identify how participants' demographic information, perceived social and environmental conditions, influences their responses in the areas of police confidence, and to what extent the police are held responsible for ensuring the safety and security of the local residents they serve.

2. I would like to withdraw my information or I am considering withdrawing my information?

Having completed and submitted the online questionnaire, you are now unable to withdraw your data from the research. As you have submitted the form anonymously there is no identifiable information that can be used to trace your questionnaire back to you.

3. Can I obtain a summary? What form will this take?

I will be producing a summary of this report on the 11th March 2011. If you would like a copy please do not hesitate to contact me after this date.
