SFMTA: Safer Taylor Street Project

Safer Taylor Street is a community-centered transportation project focused on implementing a range of improvements to Taylor Street between Market and Sutter streets with a focus on:

Pedestrian safety and accessibility
Cyclist safety and mobility
Calming traffic speeds
Promoting livable streets for Taylor Street residents and businesses

The following photo renderings or "remixes" represent possible future configurations for Taylor Street. These images are intended to spark feedback on what features and amenities a future street should include, such as widened sidewalks, protected bike lanes, space for parking and loading, and landscaping. Your input will help us determine which elements are prioritized in the final design proposal.

Existing Conditions:This image shows present-day Taylor Street between Turk and Eddy streets with three lanes of one-way traffic, along with 10-foot sidewalks, metered parking and some commerical and passenger loading zones.

Remix A depicts a one-way roadway configuration with one travel lane, along with a widened sidewalk, two-way separated bike lane and space for parking and loading.

Remix B depicts a two-way roadway configuration with one travel lane in each direction, along with a widened sidewalk, two-way separated bike lane and space for parking and loading.

Remix C depicts a one-way roadway configuration with two travel lanes, along with a widened sidewalk, two-way separated bike lane and space for parking and loading.
