A 4-month-old female Jehovah’s Witness infant presented to her pediatrician for routine well-child check. On exam, she’s noted to have poor growth and pallor. She was born term, with normal newborn nursery course and without jaundice, and has been breast-feeding well. She shows no major illness or infection. Her newborn screen is reported as normal.
