Before we get that, first let's talk about the Five Elements. The Five Element system is a part Chinese medicine and draws upon the elements of nature help us understand ourselves and the world around us.
The Five Elements are Water, Wood, Fire, Earth, and Metal. Each element corresponds to a particular temperament or personality, certain parts of our anatomy, aspects of our physiology, and certain emotions.
The Water Element corresponds to the low back, the kidneys, the bladder, the bones, the hair, and our ancestral heritage or DNA. It governs our growth and development as children and reproduction later in life. It is associated with with winter, night, cold, and dark. The energy of the Water calls us to slow down, rest, & reflect. The qualities of Water are so important in our busy lives to help keep us balanced!
