A 14-year-old young man with a confirmed, underlying diagnosis of 22q11.2 deletion syndrome presents to the emergency department with a 2-week history of recurrent epistaxis, lasting up to 10 minutes, and mild bruising. He had a similar episode 1 year ago that was treated with cautery. There was no obvious history of trauma. His past medical history is significant for a repaired tetralogy of Fallot with a conserved pulmonary valve. His family is of Greek decent and there is no history of consanguinity.
