Out of state newcomer exemption:
This exemption from payment of Out-of-District daily parking fees at Regional Transportation District (RTD) parking facilities is available only to a transit patron that recently moved from outside of Colorado to an address that is located within the boundaries of the RTD service area, and has not yet registered his/her with the Colorado DMV to the new in district address and would otherwise be subject to out-of-District parking fees when parked at an RTD parking facility where parking fees apply. An approved application temporarily exempts the holder from out-of-District parking fees, where applicable, for up to 120 days until Colorado Department of Motor records indicate that his/her vehicle is registered to the new in district address listed on the exemption. Only one exemption will be allowed per plate, no exceptions. If after the expiration of this exemption the owner of the vehicle has not registered their vehicle with the Colorado DMV at an in district address, the owner will be liable for all daily parking, collection, and attorney fees for the time period of the exemption. An exempt vehicle is treated as an In-District vehicle, not subject to daily charges, but is subject to parking charges after 24 hours. All fees and violations prior to approval of this application are the responsibility of the applicant. Approval/denial will be sent within 24 hours of submission. Submit the completed application electronically, or fax them to 303-744-1437, or mail them to Central Parking System, 1801 California St., Ste 2775, Denver, CO 80202.
