This Week’s Service Updates: a short list this week as we concentrate on SurveyGizmo 2.0!
- Improved Response Time ‘Partial’ and ‘In Progress’ survey responses are no longer delayed, you can quite literally watch someone progress through a survey from the your browse response screens.
- Survey Email Invitation deliverability improved (even more) We have upgraded the transmission rate of invitations to be more inline with good email practices. As a result, deliverablity to high-end corporate entities has been improved.
- Account Management It’s now possible to update your billing information through your account interface.
- Cross-Tab Reporting Improved Report speed improved and non-applicable options are no longer visible when building this kind of report.
- Uptime Monitoring We have now implemented 24×7 uptime monitoring and notification on all of our servers.

A Short List This Week While We Work on SurveyGizmo Version 2.0!
- SalesForce integration. Long SalesForce actions now load faster and are easier to edit.
- Survey Email Invitation deliverability improved. Changed configuration that will assist in getting email through some corporate and academic firewalls.
- Better survey printing. A new and improved print style sheet for much better printing capability within the survey editor. (Still not perfect. Look for PDF printing down the road.)
- Custom messages improved. Custom messages for closed survey and duplicate protection messages now display properly and within your theme.

- Merge codes: You can now display an entire table question with a single merge code.
- Action logging. Survey actions now record success and errors and can be viewed in the Browse Responses screen. This includes ExactTarget and SalesForce integration.
- Continuous sum. It’s now possible to have an “Other” textbox for continuous sum questions.
- WordPress plugin. Has been updated to work on all WordPress installations.
- Apple Widget. Has been updated to work even if you have a large number of surveys.
- TURF analysis. It’s now possible to simulate combinations of 11 items at once.
- Custom matrix questions. You can now randomize rows within custom matrix questions.

- .info is now valid email extension for our lead filtering (sorry .info people!).
- Menu Questions (drop downs and select lists) have been greatly improved.

- Progress bars display their background colors correctly in embedded surveys now.

New survey features added to SurveyGizmo this week.
- Major Release in Progress: we are currently working on a large release, so the new feature roster will seem a little lighter for the next few weeks.
- Quiz Scoring: There is now a new merge code for QuizScoring that will let you show which questions a respondent got wrong.
- Short Names: you can now assign reference names to questions — which become field names in file exports!
- Script Function: there is now a new script function called sgapiGetResponseData(surveyid,responseid). It returns all the data for that response (provided you own the survey you are requesting) you can then use it to trigger logic ands populate one survey from another.
- Don’t Know multiple choice options will automatically sink to the bottom of randomized lists.

- New Popup Calendar: a new calendar is available that does not have ‘bleed through’ effects that the old version had. Your respondents can now enter dates with a click of the mouse.
- Improved Page Jumping: surveys now track the page path that a respondant takes, allowing you to jump forwards *and* backwards. Also, the back button works in conjunction with page logic now.
- Bulk Multiple Choice Editing: we have now added a bulk editing tool for those of you with large numbers of multiple choice options!
- Survey Page Paths: you can now see where a respondant got ‘hung up’ in your survey with page paths on the
Browse Response screen.
- Browser Stats now tracks browser usage in your surveys.

- Cool world map of survey data: Want to know where in the world your survey data is coming from? Check out the new graphic on a survey’s Overview page.
- Embeded Surveys now report in real-time:A minor oversight of ours, several weeks ago we made all surveys real-time. We did not activate this feature for embedded surveys. It has been activated now!
- Text field validation: Yes, you can now assign validation to text field responses. For example, ask a respondent for an email address, and a message will appear immediately if the address is formatted incorrectly.
- Vote protection for embedded surveys: Prevent survey takers from submitting more than one response in an embedded survey. (This feature was already enabled in other types of SurveyGizmo surveys.)
- Updated autoformatting for percentages: Your respondents can more easily delete previous answers. Thanks for the recommendation, Shane!
- Build-your-own-matrix: This new question type lets you ask several questions at once using multiple question types. More info found in our blog posting.
- Upload files and images: Easily upload images, such as your company logo, and add them to your surveys. Learn all about it in our blog.
- Minor bug fix: Star images now load correctly in embedded surveys.
- WordPress plugin upgrade: Yay! The WordPress plugin has been upgraded. It now has the correct embedding link for surveys.
- Upgraded email autoresponder interface: Check it out — we think you’ll find the interface much easier to use.
- Captions and titles for charts: Have pie and bar charts in your polls? You can give them titles or captions above or below the charts.
- Multiple text box minimum number row specification: Wow, that’s a mouthful! In text box questions, you can now require a survey taker to fill out a minimum number of rows.
- Upgraded poll charts: Poll charts now respect deleted responses.

- Show/Hide now works with drop-down menus
- Force Percent Formatting Major upgrade to percentage formatting. It now behaves much better and makes it more difficult to mis-enter data. It has also been added to tables of text boxes!
- sgUID Get Variable: A new special ‘get string’ or ‘url’ variable has been added. Passing a survey a sgUID will automatically de-dupe against that ID. This is perfect for membership websites and profile surveys!
- Helper Messages: Several new ‘helper’ messages have been added to the system to help you build surveys faster!
- Large Survey Editing: Large surveys automatically switch to page-by-page editing (which makes editing them MUCH easier and faster).

- Quizzes: You can now run quizzes (with automated scoring) in SurveyGizmo. Just click “Create Quiz” to get going!
- New Action Type: Script Control: You can now write mini-scripts in SurveyGizmo that can change the way your survey, poll or quiz behaves — you can perform calculations, update question text, anything you can think of.

New survey features added to SurveyGizmo this week.
- Email Invites Upgraded: We have made dozens of small upgrades to the email invite code. It now allows larger blasts and editing of your invites.
- Also in email invites — if you forget to add a trackable survey link to your email the system will now warn you. This should help reduce embarrassing mistakes!
- New UI Feature!: We have updated the add-a-question screen to be, well… less primitive.
- Print Survey: This feature lets you print your survey. While not intended to become a “print survey,” it does make it easier to bring surveys to meetings and edit them offline.
- Result Graphs!: That’s right! You can now provide real-time pie and bar charts in your surveys. This is great for real-time polls.

- Report Options: Choose from additional options when running reports, including the ability to de-dupe responses and round off percentages.
- Fancy Web 2.0 Features: We added a little AJAX goodness; you can edit survey titles on any page inline as well as inline delete on survey listing pages.

- Export Feature: It’s now possible to export “partially” completed surveys into a CSV document.
- Easy Page Hiding: You can now set a page to hide-itself based on a question on a previous page. This is different from page jumping and works great with checkbox questions where each checkbox toggles a page of questions on or off.

- Email Invites additions to Results Page: The email body and subject are now printed on the results page for future reference.
- Account Page: some bugs fixed on account page
- Knocked out a bug causing occasional blank pages to be delivered in the survey editor (very annoying bug — we’re happy it’s history!)

New survey features added to SurveyGizmo this week.
- Embedable Survey Feeds: Now you can use JavaScript to embed a survey feed into a page. Then you schedule surveys to flow into the feed, allow you to change content without have to update your webpage
- “None of the above” options sticks to the bottom: If you add a radio button choice “None of the above” and turn on randomize option order, it will stay rooted to the bottom.
- Improved Javscript Embed: The javascript embed code is now shorter again and solves problems with line breaks destroying the code common in many Content Management Systems like WordPress.
- API Key On/OFF fixed: The API turn on system available on account page now works again! A bug was fixed that prevented the on state form staying on.

- JavaScript Embed - big improvements: New JS embed code
improves the stability of embedded surveys as well as adding several
new features. JS embedded surveys now can have variables passed in from
the query string. Embedded survey sessions are now tracked with a
cookie which allows a lot more flexibility.
- New question type - Rating Scale: The rating scale allows
you to insert a radio button question with a ranking scale from 1 to X.
You specify the number of gradations and the question will add in the
labels and scale

- Report Fix: Creating filters that result in zero responses no longer time-out your report.
- Report Upgrade: Reports on ranking questions now give you average ranks for each item.
- New Question Type: “Custom Question Group” is now a new question type. It lets you create “repeat on demand” blocks of questions. (The survey respondant presses a “add more” button and an addition copy of the questions appear.
- New Feature: Pipe Question Options from a URL Token. This allows you to add options to a radio, menu, table or checkbox question dynamically from values passed in the Survey’s URL.
